DAY 2
San Jose| Irazu Volcano | Orosi Valley
Breakfast and then to enjoy a tour to the Irazu Volcano, Orosi Valley and Lankester Gardens. The trip begins ascending to the breathtaking summit of the Irazu Volcano for a view of the massive crater. On a sunny day you can see the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans! After an exciting tour of the volcano, we will descend to the historical city of Cartago. Here we will visit the mysterious ruins of the old Parish and view the beautiful Basilica of our "Virgen de los Angeles" with rich displays of carvings, statues, and art. After our visit to the Basilica de Los Angeles we will drive to Lankester Gardens. The Lankester Gardens are a Tropical Paradise featuring over 800 varieties of exotic orchids, various tropical flowers, and plant life. This tour continues with a ride through the unique beauty of the famous Orosi Valley and Reventazon River. The area is noted for its rich soil, abundant plant life and the outstanding coffee plantations. We will have a stop for lunch in a restaurant surrounded by beautiful coffee plantations and an excellent view of Cachi Lake. Along the way, we will visit one of the oldest colonial churches and see the enchanting "Dreamers House". Overnight in San José. (B, L)
DAY 3
San Jose | Arenal
Breakfast and departure to Arenal Volcano. You will find in this area an amazing active volcano, a beautiful lake, and a great diversity of wildlife. Arenal is most impressive at night, in the dark, bursts of fire and red-hot rocks are sometimes shot hundreds of feet into the sky. Incandescent material cascades down the slopes, especially on the northwestern side. In the afternoon take an adventurous hiking tour around the Arenal Volcano and afterwards have a great relaxing time at the natural hot spring waters with buffet dinner included. Overnight in Arenal. DAY 4
Arenal
Breakfast and departure to a Safari floating tour in the Peñas Blancas River. Experience the peacefulness of the forest traveling on the Peñas Blancas River with the opportunity to observe many different animals such as monkeys, sloth, iguanas, tortoises, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Our boat does not use a motor so that you can enjoy the sounds of nature as we paddle down the river offering you the best opportunity to take photos. You will be accompanied by an experienced naturalist guide who will explain many fascinating details about the trees, plants, birds, and animals. Rest of the day at leisure to get to know the area and La Fortuna town Overnight in Arenal. (B, L)
DAY 5
Arenal | Monteverde
Breakfast and departure to Monteverde going through beautiful scenery of the Arenal Volcano and the Lake. The Monteverde Reserve is one of the most diverse and richest cloud forests in the new world and it has extensive trails which allow visitors to enjoy a rich diversity of flora and wildlife. Afternoon at leisure to visit Monteverde town on your own. Overnight in Monteverde. (B)

Monteverde
Breakfast and then enjoy our famous Combo Tour which is a combination of suspension bridges, cables and platforms built in the cloud forest that offers an opportunity to explore the forest canopy in a safe and easy manner. Lunch included. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the area or to visit on your own the art galleries, cheese & coffee factories, and hummingbird garden, among others. Overnight in Monteverde. DAY 7
Monteverde | Guanacaste
Breakfast and departure to the beautiful beaches of Guanacaste. Guanacaste, Costa Rica’s northwestern province, is best known for its number of every type, texture and color beautiful beaches and huge cattle reaches surrounded by a rich diversity of natural habitats, estuaries, posture land, dry tropical forest, marshes, rivers folklore, music, color, and traditional food. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Guanacaste. (B, L, D)
